Arrival/Dismissal
School starts at 7:50am. Students will meet in the auditorium. Students will be dismissed at 2:45 p.m. I will release the children one at a time. If you are sending someone else to pick up your child, be sure and give your child a note to hand to me at the beginning of the day. If you need to pick up your child early, you need to go through the school office.
Absences
If your child is absent, a written note stating the dates and explanation of the absence is needed. It is important that you make doctors appointments, dentist appointments ect. on Friday afternoons or after school.
Uniforms/personal Items
All clothing and personal items your child brings to school should be labeled with your child's first and last name. This cannot be stressed enough.
Homework
Homework will be given on a daily basis. Please encourage your child to complete his or her homework neatly. Students will follow a homework pattern for the week. See sample attached. Please don't forget to read with your child each night for 15-20 minutes. This is an important part of our homework. I will provide fluency readings/books for extra practice. Homework needs to be completed by students and not family members. No excessive erasing.
Communication
Feel free to speak with me regarding any concerns that you may have. You can do this through email at [email protected]. Please allow me to respond within 24 hours. My office hours are from 3:30pm-7:00pm. If you email me later than 7pm I will respond the following day. If you have an emergency, please call the school office. However, please refrain from conferencing with me when I am walking my students to the classroom in the mornings and when I am dismissing my students after school.

Continue-Behavior and Discipline Plan
I like to encourage all students to take responsibility and make good choices. Time out happens occasionally. I like to use them as a teaching and learning opportunity. For example, “Do you understand why you had a time out? What would be a better choice next time?”
Their behavior will be posted on their behavior log calendar. Therefore, it is very important that they bring their behavior log to school every day in order for you to keep track of your child’s behavior. Please initial on the current date on a daily basis.
